I’m from Fort Dodge, Iowa. I’ve been with RTL Equipment for over a decade in various capacities, including several years in the service department. I enjoy meeting contractors and having the opportunity to help them with their business. I believe the best way to be successful is to help others be successful, as well as to provide the best products available, and that is what we strive for at RTL Equipment. To me, a strong work ethic, positive moral values and being highly motivated are essential to success. I am a self-starter who will give 100% effort until a task is completed, and completed well.
I’ve been selling construction equipment since 2010, most recently with RTL Equipment. My job is to be the connection between the customer and the company. I pride myself on being accessible to my customers and to assist them by responding to any questions or concerns they might have. RTL Equipment is a unique company because we have the ability to serve customer needs ranging from mini excavators to 500 ton cranes. The company has a reputation for being flexible and willing to work with customers in order to satisfy their needs, which is my favorite part about being a part of RTL— everyone works together to take care of our customers.
I’m originally from the Des Moines area. After attending Creighton University in Omaha, I returned to Des Moines and joined RTL Equipment at the beginning, in 1994. I have been the CFO since 2000 and one of the reasons I’m proud to be part of the RTL family is because we can positively impact the the lives and businesses from all over the United States and world. Management tries to create an environment where we can work with our employees and customers to achieve their final objectives. It’s enjoyable to come to work each day knowing that our employees are here for the right reasons and they want to assist our customers. In my spare time, I’m a baseball/sports junkie and I’d never pass up a chance to watch a game. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and our two grown children.
I was born and raised in the Des Moines area and joined RTL Equipment in 2015. Before my time at RTL, I worked in Accounting and Inventory Management, and that experience has been a great asset to the role I’m in today. My main goal each day is to help sustain an environment that is customer-friendly and efficient for all parties involved.
I get to help customers and my fellow employees every day. My role as service manager gives me the opportunity to interact with and answer technical questions for customers and other employees, as well as to work with my hands on our equipment. It’s important to me to deal with any problems that come up until they are solved and complete, in order to maximize uptime on our equipment as well as our customer’s equipment. I think my ability to communicate well with people, and my extensive knowledge of equipment help me to achieve quality solutions to any issues that arise.
I live in Des Moines and have been working at RTL Equipment for over a decade. Customer service is the most rewarding part about being with RTL, which is why I work hard to try and help all customers with their needs. I have over 35 years experience in the parts business, and I use this to solve problems and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
I am originally from Zacatecas, Mexico. I’ve lived in Des Moines for 19 years now, so at times I find that I no longer know where I’m from. I truly enjoy living in Iowa, but also miss my motherland of Mexico. My role at RTL is varied, which is something I have really enjoyed since starting here in 2008.
My current position is in the parts department where in any given day, I’ll be working with parts, answering phones, and supplying our customers with what they need, then the next day I’ll be helping field service technicians, working outside all day unloading equipment, assisting in erecting cranes and parts, or washing equipment. And because I’m bilingual, I get called on to help both Spanish and English speaking customers when needed.
I believe it’s important to get the job done well and to give my best effort throughout a project, so getting along with all of my co-workers and being able to work with and help anyone—peers and customers alike—is a big part of being able to accomplish that.
After growing up in Michigan and traveling the globe, I moved to Iowa in 1989. I found my beautiful wife, Julie in Iowa and we started our family here, so I’m proud to call Iowa home. Many of the skills I developed while working over 25 years in the truck repair service have allowed me to adapt quickly in my role here. I became part of the RTL Equipment family in 2015 and my duties now include monitoring and processing repair orders, filing warranty claims, and assisting customers. One of my favorite things to do is help our customers keep their machines running smoothly and I’m happy to be able to do that each day.
I grew up on a farm in Hawarden, a small town in Iowa, which helped introduce me to the industry. As a founding member of RTL Equipment, I believe it is essential to go above and beyond when working with people. To me, this means that I am willing to do whatever is necessary to get things done, and I do my best to try and assist people whenever they ask for help. I love being able to (hopefully) help every employee feel good about their position here at RTL Equipment. I care about every person that works here, so I strive to help our employees recognize their importance when it comes to being part of the RTL team and helping the company run efficiently.
Originally, I’m from Denver, Iowa and I’ve been with RTL Equipment since 2009. In my opinion, I am very much a responsive customer advocate. I realize that the products we sell are expensive and it takes a great deal of trust for people to purchase something of that magnitude. I strive to be someone our customers can trust, and who they know is working for them. I understand that there are times where you have to be willing to sacrifice to help a customer when they are down. This is a relationship business and I recognize that if you are a difficult person to deal with, there won’t be much success for you in this industry. My real world experience, which has been obtained since starting at RTL Equipment, has helped me to grow as a person and as a salesman. There is always something new to learn or take away from any situation. I enjoy the interaction I have with people. In the course of my work with RTL, I’ve developed some very deep friendships and, in the process, done some business. The environment that RTL Equipment has set up for employees gives everyone the opportunity to grow.
I’ve been with RTL Equipment since 2013, and I’m from Oxford, Iowa. I enjoy the pace of the transactions and being able to work with customers to deliver a quality product to meet their needs and budget. I think the organized, diligent, hard-working, creative and honest approach I take toward my work, as well as my previous contractor experience, help me put my best foot forward with the work I do for RTL.
I have lived my whole life in Denver, IA and have been working with RTL Equipment since my retirement from Hayden Murphy Equipment in 2012. Working with RTL has allowed me to stay in contact with all of the friends and people I have worked with over the years, and because I am a retired person who works for the joy of selling equipment, my passion for the industry is evident to everyone I interact with. I believe this makes a difference when making sales.
A good portion of my time at RTL is spent searching North America for good deals on used and new cranes. I work at building relationships with other crane dealers. With over 35 years of experience in the equipment industry, there have been a lot of strong relationships built. Through these searches, I continuously gain knowledge of used cranes and their values, so I am frequently involved in determining values for trade in equipment also.
I grew up in Iowa City and have lived in Eastern Iowa my entire life. I have over 25 years of experience in concrete construction. People in construction are some of the most interesting people I’ve come to know. The complexity of construction projects require collaborative and creative solutions that can only come from solid relationships. My goal is to understand my customer’s needs; I will work tirelessly with the RTL team to create solutions to meet the complexities of your construction environment.
I have been married for 17 years and have a son and daughter. I graduated of City High School and Creighton University. I enjoy camping with family, woodworking, shooting and hunting.
I am from Tipton, Iowa. I have been with RTL Equipment since 2013 and enjoy the variety of work and different opportunities that I have experienced. I think that always doing my best and being flexible with work projects help make me a great fit at RTL.
I’m from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and have been with RTL Equipment since 2013. I enjoy the fast pace of the work in addition to the daily challenges. Although I’m newer to the equipment world, I have worked in service shops and customer service for over a decade. I will exhaust every resource available to find answers and assist our customers. I believe that my organizational skills and tenacious attitude make me a great fit at RTL Equipment.
I’m from Victor, Iowa and have been with RTL Equipment for over 15 years and have 30 years of heavy equipment experience either servicing, operating, selling or troubleshooting machines. I love the variety of jobs and the daily challenges that come with my work. Assisting customers with questions, giving advice to technicians, performing annual inspections in the field, and delivering truck cranes throughout the Midwest make my job interesting and exciting. I think the fact that I enjoy people and have many contacts in the equipment world make me a valuable asset to RTL Equipment.
I was raised on a farm near Glenwood, MN, and graduated from NDSU in 1991 with a BS in Mass Communications and a minor in Business. I stayed in Fargo, ND working in construction for several years as a foreman/crane operator before starting with Wanzek Construction in 1994. At Wanzek, I began as a crane operator for 13 years working on Wanzek sites and then transitioned into the taxi crane service. In 2006, I became the Crane Service Manager, and in 2008 the Crane Operations Manager, overseeing the entire ﬂeet of owned and rented cranes until Oct. 2017 when I started in sales with RTL Equipment. My responsibilities with RTL include the Dakotas and northern Minnesota. Due to my vast experience with cranes, I feel I can provide a valuable service to RTL customers in these areas. I have amazing twin daughters that are the best things in my life. We enjoy camping, traveling, swimming, and all the other great summer activities. I also play fastpitch softball which is my passion.
